Job Description & Requirements

The Pricing Analyst III identifies cost requirements and anticipated overhead for sales merchandise. He/she analyzes and monitors competitor prices/data and recommends price changes. Additionally, this person is also responsible for communicating pricing information with vendors and merchandising associates. 


• Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine the feasibility of the pricing strategy. 

• Provides analyses that improve the ability to achieve volume and profitability objectives.

• Evaluates market conditions and develops processes to determine optimal price levels.

• Creates and uses queries and other tools as needed for customer account analysis.

• Analyzes customer price files to ensure prices are maintained per formulas and exceptions.

• Researches and resolves all price issues for assigned accounts.

• Creates margin analysis to develop pricing when requested by Sales or to resolve; No Price; issues.

• Monitors customer/product profitability and develops full analysis models as needed.

• Maintains pricing formula spreadsheets. 

• Maintains special formats for contracted monthly price change calculation and customer notification.

• Participates in monthly price changes involving calculating and updating customer price files based on changes in relevant commodity market prices, validating price file changes, and notifying customers, brokers, and sales of price change.

• Updates customer price files for assigned accounts using mass price change and manual data entry methods.

• Updates customer price files with national branded pricing identified by branded query for assigned accounts. 

• Coordinates review of contract/fixed pricing in assigned accounts, and maintains revised pricing.

• Prepares ad hoc reports and analysis.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling.

• Has supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.


Minimium Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related area.

• Minimum 3 years of pricing or customer order fulfillment cycle experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong research and analytical skills required.

• Strong mathematical aptitude required.

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

• Skill in organizing, prioritizing, follow-up, and attending to detail.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.

• Ability to work collaboratively with all teams, departments, management levels within the company, and external stakeholders.
